Frolic More Just Misses at Churchill Downs
Frolic More, a son of More Than Ready who is from the same family as Chad Brown’s Lewis Bay, exploded on the scene in his second start at Churchill Downs.
Sold this past Spring at OBS to Kip Elser and trained by Dallas Stewart, you will be hard pressed to find a horse who ran second who looked more impressive doing it.
Frolic More ran the last weekend of Saratoga to get some experience, running fifth while having some trouble. A couple of nice maintenance works set him up at EVEN odds at Churchill Downs. The horse got distracted in the gate for just a second, and it cost him dearly. Frolic More jumped in the gate, spotting the field a legit head start, then rallied steadily throughout the race. To make matters worst, he was stuck on the rail, so he had to make his own path. When room finally came, he exploded and just missed winning, running second and making $12,000.
This colt is from an extraordinary family. There are four graded stakes winners in the second dam alone, so expect this colt to just get better as he continues to develop.
