Blue Chip Thoroughbreds made a major move when they bought a Nyquist filly from Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds. The private sale capped a whirlwind tour of Ocala as Blue Chip loaded up on several top-caliber prospects for the 2020 summer race season.
While it be hard to top last season, a year in which Blue Chip owner Steve McPherson bought Grade II winner Lazy Daisy, world class grass sprinter Phast Pharoah, Oaklawn Park maiden winner Liam’s Pride, and Grade I placed Defense Wins, the Nyquist filly fits that mold. She is big, athletic, with plenty of scope.
“I think she needs a little time,” said McPherson. “But she has the athletic ability and the reach to be special.”
McPherson owns the horse in partnership with CTR Stables and the two entities plan on selling her later in the summer. For more information, feel free to contact Blue Chip at email@example.com.
